Alison Doody
Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. Doody made her acting debut in the Bond film called A View to a Kill in 1985. In 1989 she played the archaeologist who was sympathetic to Nazis Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody was asked by a photographer to model and began to model. Doody then began to build her career as a commercial model. Doody tried to stay clear of the glamour of nude roles which was a principle she followed in her acting. After getting noticed by the directors of casting for the James Bond new film, Doody was cast in a minor portion of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of the top 12 promising young Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Volume. 38. Doody is only 18 when she played the part of Doody in the movie A Prayer for the Dying (1987), starring Mickey Rourke. Doody is the tiniest Bond girl to be seen. in 1987 Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA members Siobhan Doovan. Doody was unspoken in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias as she appeared in his dream, 1987's adaptation of The Secret Garden. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading role. It aired in 1988 alongside John Hurt, Dawn French as well as Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. Then she took her greatest role as Austrian Nazisympathiser and Archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film and played the role of her father in the film. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Then she moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson's role. Doody then appeared as Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent, opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. After a long absence from the screen Doody returned to acting and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an award ceremony scene. Doody was a co-star, along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. In 2010 Doody was a character in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama on RTE. The Asphyx was the remake she made in 2011. In 2011, she started the second season on the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she won the Almeria Tierra de Cinema Award and was awarded a Star on the Walk of Fame in Almeria.
